Moving to Italy: What should you consider?
If you are about to move to Italy, you will have to complete some formalities. At the same time, you enjoy the advantage that the country belongs to the European Union. The Freedom of Movement Act applies and you do not need a visa or anything similar, as your ID card is sufficient to enter the country. If the move to Italy is due to a job change, you do not need to look for a job or obtain a residence permit. Of course, you can apply for this with confirmation from your new employer. In this case it is initially valid for five years, an extension is possible.

The move to Italy and customs
Are you unsure which customs regulations apply to your move to Italy? Although the country belongs to the European Union, there are special laws governing the transfer of goods. Declare your private goods as removal goods beforehand and make a list of all the items. We would be happy to provide you with a form for this purpose. Furthermore, an observation period of twelve months applies. If you give away or sell your moving goods within this period, subsequent fees and taxes will apply.

Unser erster Spediteur konnte für unseren Eigentum-Container keinen Platz auf einem Überseeschiff organisieren, trotz angeblicher bester Kontakte ("wir sollten 2 bis 3 Monate warten, weil dann sich die Lage vielleicht ändere und ein Platz frei würde").
